Accessibility Statement for Clean Age

Clean Age is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards stated in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998.

What We Did

To help us make the Clean Age website a positive experience for everyone, we have been referring to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA criteria to better meet the needs of users with disabilities.

These guidelines outline four main principles for accessible web content:

  • Perceivable – Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive. This includes providing text alternatives for non-text content, captions for multimedia, and ensuring content can be presented in different ways without losing meaning.
  • Operable – User interface components and navigation must be operable. This means all functionality should be available from a keyboard, users should have enough time to read and use content, and the site should not include content that could cause seizures or physical reactions.
  • Understandable – Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable. Text content should be readable, web pages should appear and operate in predictable ways, and users should be helped to avoid and correct mistakes.
  • Robust – Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies such as screen readers and voice recognition software.

What We Are Doing

We are taking the following measures to ensure accessibility on clean-age.com:

  • Including accessibility as part of our internal policies and design process
  • Providing meaningful alt text for product images across our AHA deodorant and body spray collections
  • Ensuring proper heading hierarchy and semantic HTML structure across all pages, including our Home, Shop, Product Detail, About, FAQ, Contact, Blog, and Reviews pages
  • Maintaining sufficient color contrast ratios throughout our site design
  • Ensuring all interactive elements—including navigation menus, product selectors, the shopping cart, and checkout flow—are fully keyboard accessible
  • Using ARIA labels and roles where appropriate to enhance the experience for screen reader users
  • Ensuring that forms, including our contact form and checkout fields, have properly associated labels and clear error messaging
  • Conducting periodic reviews using automated accessibility testing tools and manual testing methods
  • Training our team members on accessibility best practices

Scope of This Statement

This accessibility statement applies to content published on clean-age.com, including our Home page, Shop and Collection pages, individual Product Detail pages, About page, FAQ, Contact page, Blog, Reviews, Cart, and Checkout experience.

Third-Party Content & Known Limitations

Our website is built on the Shopify platform and integrates several third-party services to enhance the shopping experience. While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all areas of our site, we acknowledge that some third-party components may present accessibility gaps that are outside of our direct control. These include:

  • Shopify Theme Components – Certain elements of our Shopify theme may have accessibility limitations inherent to the platform. We work within the theme to improve accessibility wherever possible and advocate for improvements from the platform provider.
  • Stamped Reviews – Our product review functionality is powered by Stamped. Some aspects of the review display or submission forms may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
  • Subify Subscriptions – Our subscription management features are provided by Subify. Certain subscription-related interface elements may have limited accessibility support.
  • Klaviyo Email Popups – Email signup popups and embedded forms are powered by Klaviyo. These elements may not be fully accessible to all assistive technologies, particularly with regard to focus management and screen reader announcements.

We are actively working with these vendors to improve accessibility and regularly evaluate alternatives that better meet our accessibility goals. Where we identify specific barriers, we work to provide equivalent access through alternative means.

Clean-age.com is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software
  • Keyboard-only navigation
